Meet Melissa

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, my love affair with jewelry & gemstones began a long time ago and was nurtured by my mother who was an avid “collector” of jewelry; she had some very fine pieces that were only for me to admire and others that were suitable for me to use playing dress up. It was through my mother’s eyes that I learned to appreciate fine gemstones and expert craftsmanship. It was also through my mother - having raised 5 girls - that I learned to be very careful about how money is spent. 

I am no different than most women… I absolutely love jewelry! That said, I know all too well that buying a piece of fine quality jewelry is not often an inexpensive proposition. People tend to rely on the big name brand retailers and then experience sticker shock upon picking out pieces they like. While some people would like you to believe that you have to pay exorbitant prices to get excellent quality, I am here to tell you that is definitely not the case! 

Like most women, I want to feel confident that the jewelry I buy represents both great quality and a fair price. There is nothing worse than knowing you overpaid for a piece and/or did not get exactly what you wanted. How does the Carat Concierge process work? 

I, Melissa, will meet with you one-to-one to discuss the piece of jewelry you’d like to create. I will explain the steps necessary to create your piece and will help you establish a realistic budget for your project. Once the project has been outlined and a projected delivery date has been established, I will begin sourcing all of the components needed to create your piece of jewelry. Frequent updates will be provided to inform you of your piece's progress and scheduled delivery date.
